The bulletin
The latest bulletin issued by experts at the Via Biasi power station in Cagliari states that "a low-pressure system of Atlantic origin is crossing Sardinia and has entered the Tyrrhenian Sea. This is associated with a low-pressure system over the Ligurian Sea, causing strong pressure gradients with locally gale-force winds over the central-western Mediterranean."
In the morning , "isolated to scattered rainfall was recorded in Sardinia, including showers or isolated thunderstorms, with weak cumulative rainfall especially in the central and north-eastern sectors."
In the afternoon, "isolated rainfall, including showers, with light cumulative rainfall. Geomorphological and hydraulic problems are therefore possible, mainly in the central and northwestern parts of the island. Rising water levels in the Tirso, Temo, Flumini Mannu di Cagliari, and Flumendosa basins."
A new low-pressure system is expected to pass through tomorrow, after 6 pm.
