An alleged assault on an 86-year-old local man dates back to August 9th, in the countryside of Tissi. The man was subsequently admitted to the Santissima Annunziata Hospital for several days due to his injuries.

Three people from Ossi, all reportedly related, are under investigation for the incident on charges of aggravated assault. Other more serious charges, such as attempted murder, are still being examined by the prosecutor's office and by prosecutor Maria Paola Asara, the head of the investigation, which is being conducted by the Flying Squad.

The 86-year-old man himself is also under investigation for carrying a weapon for which a license is not permitted, because he allegedly had with him a "pattadesa" knife with a blade over 10 cm long. The motive for the incident is currently unclear, and speculation has been raised only about alleged misdemeanors related to land. Letizia Forma is the court-appointed attorney for the three men, while Piera Marras, also a court-appointed attorney, is representing the 86-year-old.
