New raid by the Local Police of Cagliari to check the licenses and concessions of the vans-sandwich shops in the city.

This morning the agents showed up in Piazza dei Centomila, between Viale Diaz and Viale Colombo, to check the "4 octopuses" fryer, a refreshment point in the parking lots under the Bonaria staircase. The vehicle, with chairs, tables and umbrellas, was subjected to administrative seizure. According to the accusations, articles 15, 17 and 18 of regional law 5 of 2006 were violated: the holder did not have the concession for the use of public land. The fine was also taken.

"So they are sinking us," says Gigi Spina. «As a category we are asking to be able to work. Bring us into compliance by approving a new regulation governing the sector. Instead nothing. The checks are triggered, they sanction you and make you close. Leaving many families in the middle of the street. I will be forced to leave Italy».

The van-chip shop in Piazza dei Centomila had been a meeting point for years and had an expired concession, issued by the Region: «I asked to be able to renew it. They always slammed the door in my face, for no reason."

Before Spina it was the turn of the Mulinu Becciu sandwich van, then the one in Piazza Madre Teresa di Calcutta and then the one in Viale Cimitero in front of the Oxygen fields. Provisions taken in the context of the carpet checks announced by the commander of the local police, Guido Calzia.

The tension on the regulation of the concessions also reached the City Council and the Town Hall with a demonstration by the street vendors.
