Everything is ready for the " Golden Onion Festival ", which on Saturday and Sunday will offer events dedicated to taste, conviviality and art in Banari. For several years the festival has been associated with a A special award conceived and donated by Maestro Giuseppe Carta, presented to a Sardinian who has honored the name of Sardinia throughout the world. On Saturday at 7:00 PM, the award will be presented to singer Elena Ledda , one of the international ambassadors of Sardinian identity.

Welcoming her on the stage in Piazza Umberto will be Mayor Francesco Basciu , President of the Proloco Francesco Di Stefano , and, of course, Maestro Carta. The awards ceremony will begin at 6:00 PM with a demonstration by master craftsman Barbanera, followed by a performance by the Banari male choir "Su Cuncordu Banaresu," directed by Silvio Nappi . The official opening of the food and wine stands of the Proloco organizations of Banari, Porto Torres, Usini, Thiesi, and Villanova Monteleone is also planned.

Sunday   at 8.30 Bike and walking excursions along the Meilogu nature trails are planned. Lunch is scheduled for 1 pm in the shade of the tree-lined garden, and at 5 pm, there will be "Entertainment and games for children" in Piazza della Palma (Largo Gramsci), with free admission. Then, at 6 pm, there will be a workshop on dyeing herbs with Gianpaolo Demartis.

At 7:00 pm, there will be a cooking show and a DOC Taste workshop with Michelin-starred chef Luigi Pomata, and a discussion about Slow Food Presidia and local DOC wines. At 7:30 pm, the Heritage Trio will perform a concert not to be missed by jazz lovers. Piazza Umberto will host the exhibition "A_Dorata: The Banari Onion in Art" by the Mario Sironi Academy of Fine Arts in Sassari, curated by professor Roberto Satta. In the heart of the historic center, visitors can visit the "Carta Creation & Design. A Place of Art Called Nature" venue, dedicated to and inspired by the art and life of maestro Giuseppe Carta , whose creative work is intended as a tribute to Nature.
