He had been missing for some time, but had planned to blend in with the crowded tourists on Sardinia's beaches. His vacation, however, ended with him in handcuffs.

The State Police arrested in San Teodoro a Peruvian citizen resident in Spain , recipient of a prison order issued in May 2022 by the Public Prosecutor's Office at the Court of Milan for the crime of tax evasion .

The man, who had been wanted throughout Europe for three years , was identified by officers from the Siniscola Police Station during one of the extraordinary checks ordered by Police Chief Giuseppe Marazzita , activated in response to the increase in the number of people in coastal towns during the summer season.

The wanted man was on vacation with some friends and was trying to keep a low profile to evade law enforcement. However, the surveillance system deployed by the police allowed them to track him down and, after the necessary investigations, proceed with his arrest.

Transferred to prison, his long escape under the Sardinian sun thus ended.
