A horse died this morning in Seneghe during the Ardia tradition in honor of Santa Maria della Rosa . The cause, most likely, is the very high temperature which was " around 36 degrees ", the animal rights association Horse Angels reports.

The police also confirmed the death, the causes of which have not yet been ascertained.

“The knights - explains the association - were following the second of the three planned rounds around the church on the outskirts of the town, after the procession and the blessing of the parish priest. Suddenly an 18 year old rider and his horse fell . The knight remained unharmed. The horse, on the other hand, was immediately rescued by the veterinarian, but there was nothing to be done ".

Horse Angels wonders "what sense" does it have "to have such a demonstration at noon " and if there was "a veterinary commission to assess the suitability of the horses".

Yet another question: “Is eighteen years enough to gain experience at a street demonstration that presents dangers to horses and jockeys? The Ministry of Health should intervene to determine the lawful times for these events, to maximize safety. Do the carriages stop at noon, do you run at night in the racecourses and the palios are held at noon? ".
