The Carabinieri found it in the countryside of Gavoi , during an operation by soldiers from the Sardinian Hunters Helicopter Squadron together with colleagues from the Ottana Company.
A bunker hidden among the rocks, accessed through a tunnel dug into the ground , was equipped with lamps, an irrigation system, air extraction ducts, and a laboratory for processing and drying the substance. Everything was illegally connected to the electricity grid.
The Carabinieri found and seized around 100 plants. Nearby, they also found five vacuum-packed bags filled with dried buds, 20 blocks of hashish, and two blank pistols without the red caps . Analysis by the RIS confirmed the marijuana's high THC content.
Two people were arrested: the owner of the land where the bunker was built, a 55-year-old, and his 21-year-old son . The other daughter, 29, was reported at large. The Nuoro investigating judge has ordered house arrest for the two arrested.
