Sardinia is burning. And the strong mistral wind helps the arsonists in their destructive work.
The largest fire fronts broke out in the afternoon in Villanovafranca and Settimo San Pietro, where Canadairs also intervened to support the ground teams and the fire-fighting helicopters, as well as the firefighters.
Maximum alert in the town of Marmilla, where the fire that started in Las Plassas threatens the houses in the upper part of the town. The Municipality has issued an evacuation notice, while water bombs from three Canadairs rain down from the sky.
An airplane also worked for a long time in Settimo, where the flames are not yet extinguished : numerous trips to the coast to fish for water from Poetto.
