Twist: the airlines focus on Cagliari and Olbia , while Alghero risks running out of flights under the territorial continuity regime.

This is the most important novelty of the public tender for the award of the connections between the island and the Fiumicino and Linate airports.

At 3 pm the procedure for verifying the offers received (by electronic means) at the Department of Transport began. Two companies are in the running for the Cagliari-Rome route (Ita Airways and Volotea), one on the Cagliari-Linate route (Ita Airways). Three companies on Olbia-Fiumicino (Ita Airways, Volotea and AeroItalia), two on Olbia-Linate (Ita Airways and AeroItalia). No offers for the two sections at the Alghero airport : now a consultation will be launched with the ministry and Enac which could lead to a negotiated procedure with the companies .

The provisional award of the other routes should arrive by the end of the year .
