The dream comes true in a weekend. Mrs. Adriana Martini, 92 years old from Florence , has returned to Perdasdefogu after sixty years. Her greatest desire was to see the country that had hosted her from 1963 to 1965 again. In those years her husband Vinicio Soldaini worked in the military polygon as a blacksmith. With the end of the contract, the return to Tuscany was expected.

«I remember that I was crying – says the lady – I didn't want to go back to Florence. I left my heart in Perdas ». Granddaughters Irene and Giulia Moschi surprised her grandmother . "For Christmas we gave her the trip - the girls explain - her grandmother cried with joy". The emotion on the lady's face was still there today when she breathed the country air again. Memories have found new solidity by retracing those roads and meeting those people who live only in memory.

To welcome Adriana Martini, in the Town Hall, the mayor Bruno Chillotti, the commissioner Rita Melis and the commissioner Tore Mura . The municipal administration honored her with a bouquet of flowers and the centenary calendar. Then a lunch with old friends. Smiles and chats for an entire day that filled hearts and welded even more the bond between Tuscany and Sardinia. Among the dishes remembered by the elegant Adriana are the “pistoccu”, the “treccia” and, as she herself correctly pronounced in Sardinian, “Su cardulinu de pessa” (mushrooms). Tomorrow morning Irene, Giulia and Adriana will leave for the wonderful Florence. Pack one more certainty. Now they know that the Foghesina "family" awaits them again with open arms.
