New military maneuvers in Sardinia .
After the NATO exercise "Mare Aperto 2022" , which aroused various controversies, and after the "Neptun Shield 2022", aircraft and military vehicles are preparing for a new "mission" on the island.
The area is that of Capo Frasca , where a prohibited area has been established - called Nuova Tango 812 - subject to an order by the Oristano Harbor Master's Office , at the request of the Air Force Command stationed in the firing range.
According to the provisions, today and tomorrow, Tuesday 31 May 2022, in the area "navigation and parking with ships and boats of any kind and type, fishing and related professions, nautical tourism, bathing, as well as all activities connected with the so-called public uses of the sea ".
The shooting range on the west coast of the island is normally used for air-land and sea-land shooting exercises . There are radar systems, a heliport and subsistence bases. It occupies a land area of approximately 14 sq km and engages a "safety area at sea" which is forbidden to navigation.
