They've dubbed it "The March of the Talking Stones." And more than a form of protest, it's a defense of the land and what it represents, in a difficult moment when the entire island is exposed to the assault of multinational renewable energy companies.
The permanent Sardinian People's Garrison is taking the field, kicking off the identity march tomorrow from Santa Cristina to Paulilatino and on to Barumini , where the peaceful protest will conclude on July 18. A good number of participants are expected, given the protest's themes.
Tomorrow, the meeting point at the Pozzo di Santa Cristina is scheduled for 7:00 AM. Half an hour later, the actual march begins at 7:30 AM, heading for Bauladu. After a lunch break, the afternoon start will begin around 4:30 PM. We will pass through the territories of Tramatza, Zeddiani, and Siamanna, without entering any towns. We will arrive in Massama around 7:30 PM and in Nuraxinieddu at 8:00 PM. The first stage will end here.
Tuesday at 7:00 a.m., departure from the Don Deodato Meloni Institute for Oristano . Via Dritta will take us to Piazza Eleonora for a short stop around 9:00 a.m. We will then set off again for Santa Giusta. In the afternoon, departure for Palmas Arborea, arriving around 6:30 p.m. Arrival in Tiria is scheduled for 8:00 p.m.
From there, we'll set off again on Wednesday at 7:00 a.m. toward Villaurbana and Sa tanca Falconi. In the afternoon, we'll set off again toward Usellus, where the group will stop around 7:30 p.m.
Thursday, departure at 7:00 AM and arrival in Senis around 11:00 AM, with a stop at the Spanish fountain. Departure at 4:30 PM, arriving in Genoni around 7:30 PM. For a stretch, the route will pass through the Assolo area without entering the town.
On Friday, we set off again at 7:00 a.m. toward Nuragus and then Gesturi, with a brief stop at the birthplace of Brother Nicola. We will then arrive in Barumini around 11:30 a.m., without stopping, and continue on to Las Plassas, where we expect to arrive at 12:30 p.m. for a short break in the castle museum park. We will set off again at 5:00 p.m. toward Tuili, arriving around 6:30 p.m. with a brief stop at the Sardinian Grano Cappelli consortium. We will then return along Provincial Road 5, arriving in Su Nuraxi around 8:00 p.m.
