The deceased are just a click away. In Zeddiani, the cemetery is also digital. It's the first municipality in Sardinia where you can find your loved one with your smartphone. All this is possible thanks to a simple application called Aldilapp. But that's not all: you can also leave a dedication on the deceased's virtual profile, have flowers delivered to the grave, light a candle, and request a headstone cleaning.

To participate in the project, the municipal offices had to register and geolocate each grave . This was a long and painstaking process, but it was essential for participation in Aldilapp. Once downloaded, it allows anyone to quickly and easily locate the desired grave, eliminating the need to get lost among the various gravestones.

"The idea came from our mayor, Claudio Pinna, after attending a national ANCI meeting a year ago," explains Anna Ligia, the councilor responsible for cemetery services. "I then decided to embrace the project and get to work. It's a way to simplify the visiting experience with services dedicated to the decoration and memorialization of loved ones."

Aldilapp also allows you to highlight illustrious citizens such as, in Zeddiani's case, Aunt Veronica, a famous painter.

Residents will also be able to send flowers directly to the headstone and request grave cleaning: "Now we're waiting for florists to agree to participate in the project," explains Ligia. "They'll have the opportunity to publish their floral catalogs directly within the app for free, receiving orders in real time on their smartphones from anywhere in the world." The app also allows residents to create a digital profile for their loved one, including photos, biographies, and dedications, fostering the creation of a digital community. "This is a concrete step toward modernization," the councilor emphasizes. "We offer an innovative, respectful, and contemporary service that combines innovation and tradition in remembering loved ones."
