The mayor of Luras, Mauro Azzena , has called an extraordinary session of the city council for July 18th, entirely dedicated to the project of a large wind farm in the town. This is the mayor's appeal: «We invite the owners of the interested lands to participate in order to be able to discuss the topic and together seek any useful solution to prevent this rush to plunder a territory that is among the most beautiful in Europe ».
The community of Luras is trying to tackle a long series of wind and agrivoltaic projects . In particular, there is a lot of concern about the latest maxi project of a wind farm (six wind turbines with a power of 6.2 megawatts each) to be built in the heart of an area of great landscape value, with an agricultural and wine-growing vocation .
The project is that of the Abba Mariana park and has alarmed the owners of livestock farms and Vermentino di Gallura Docg vineyards . They are the people included in the expropriation parcel plan, the same ones ready for legal action and a complaint to the Forestry Corps. The Region has already formalized its observations, communicated to the mayor of Luras, with which it rejects the project . The Ministry of the Environment was asked to block the environmental assessment procedure, works that affect the "river banks", i.e. the buffer zones of the waterways and the proximity of the 230 meter towers to wind turbines, were reported to the Mite already existing. So huge towers close to small plants.
