A few meters from the old level crossing for Pabillonis lies Via Brivanda, a road abandoned for decades despite numerous promises, which are revived especially around the time of municipal elections. Some residents emphatically point out this: "We've lived on this dirt road for years, and despite the inevitable election promises," some residents explain, "we've never seen a single intervention from the municipality. Maintenance has always been done by us residents. The grass hasn't even been mowed, and after a few dozen meters, there are huge sinkholes that fill with water during the rains and become a serious hazard."

Thus, just steps from the old (disused) level crossing and the provincial road to Pabillonis, on Via Brivanda, residents face constant inconvenience every day, as asphalt has never arrived and potholes continually form in the dirt road. Furthermore, the area is home to people with disabilities and mothers with small children who must use strollers. In the evening, the inconvenience increases because there is almost no street lighting: many residents' homes, as well as a private daycare center, remain in the dark, and some have even resorted to guard dogs. Vegetation grows lushly along the old railway line, and every summer there is a risk of fires, which disturbs residents' sleep. When it rains, the enormous puddles hide sinkholes, as Gianni Pinna, who owns a nearby farm, points out: "It's impossible to drive on this road," he complains. "I've wrecked several cars because of the sinkholes, which the municipality has never fixed." The city administration has been promising for years to fix the road. Hope is the last to die, but the inconvenience remains.
