In Sardinia the festival that celebrates nudity: events (without veils) from Alghero to Cagliari

Art, tradition, territories and nudity for the third edition of the L'Isola Nuda festival, created by the Compagnia Teatro d'Inverno with the contribution of the national association for the promotion of the right to nudity Nudiverso. The appointment is from 12 to 18 May between Alghero , the Costa Verde of Arbus and Cagliari , just to mention the three main stages of the festival, but there are others unscheduled.

«Nudity is not an easy topic. For most people, the exposure of a naked body is inappropriate, embarrassing, uncomfortable, scandalous. It is undoubtedly not homogenizing and in its simplicity and diversity it is disarming, because it does not lie, it has always belonged to us, at any age in any aspect", explain the organizers.

«The Naked Island, through shared actions open to all, wants to bring an invitation to the emotion of rediscovering a naturalness that is too often forgotten and denied, relegated to a foreign element to be covered and hidden, even from oneself».

An invitation to lightness, to equality, to the rediscovery of oneself and others as individuals, to the sharing of beauty and the rediscovery of the harmony that every physicality possesses.

Among the planned actions, some may be carried out in nudity - always optional for participants and never obligatory - in places where this is permitted and authorised. It will start on Sunday 12th at 10am in Alghero with the Interaction workshop which addresses the individual - body relationship through movement, relationship and consensus, biodiversity and body shaming led by the actor Giuseppe Ligios, the speech therapist Ida Andrea Gulino and the prof . Antonio La Sala in the Ichnu Dance Theater Center.

Monday 13th double appointment in the Civic Theater "Gavì Ballero" in Alghero with the contribution of the Alghero Foundation, Municipality of Alghero and the patronage of the Generalitat de Catalunya. At 10am with the “Moviment Autèntic” workshop organized by the BES [Barcelona Espai Supervisió], an intergenerational group expert in the field of psychology, education and art, and led by Xavier Gimero Soria, pedagogue and psychologist, professor of Psychology at the Autonomous University of Barcelona.

From 6pm the Civic Theater will also be the site of the performative video installation " La Nuda Verità " curated by Ida Andrea Gulino, a narrative journey that takes inspiration from the photographic exhibition of the same name that Gulino is exhibiting in various regions of Italy.

The installation intersects with "Riflessi", a moment of performing art by the Teatro d'Inverno and Nudiverso and the soundtrack by Stefano Marzolla and Davide Friello.

The exploration continues "On the earth light", a title that refers to the novel by Sergio Atzeni and which identifies the routes to discover the territory, the first of which is on Tuesday 14th, along the path that from Lake Baratz leads to the "Cala Torre Bianca" of Porto Ferro, one of the six authorized beaches in Sardinia.

Thursday 16th The Nude Island moves towards the Costa Verde of Arbus where under the guidance of the CEAS of Ingurtosu at 10am we will visit the Museum of Minerals and Dioramas of Montevecchio, while at 3pm, accompanied by local guides, we will go on a discovery of the “Sentiero Funtanazza” departing from Porto Palma – Tunnaria.

The final stage of the third edition of the festival will be Cagliari and more precisely Casa Saddi in Pirri , a place of artistic welcome and house museum, where thanks to the welcome of the owners, the "Saddi Sisters", from 4pm it will be possible to share experiences between territory, art and nudity. We will talk about the festival with the artistic director of the Winter Theater the actor Giuseppe Ligios and about SNAFA (Authorized Naturist Beaches of Easy Accessibility) and Nudiverso with the president of the association Pamela Deiana, we will talk about "Truth of Places _ testimonies from the territories of Sardinia” with Sergio Cossu and guests from the world of culture, business and politics. In the Gertrude Room it will be possible to visit the video installation by Ida Andrea Gulino " La Nuda Verità " together with the performance "Riflessi".

The closing of the evening will be "A pace of dance", a great celebration of collective nudity open to all, in which the protagonist will be the rhythm of the traditional Sardinian dance and that of the French and Piedmontese Occitan dances. The dance will be led by maestro Cristiano Cani of the Symponia Association of Cagliari and Giuli Hall and Elo Seminara of the Piedmontese folk dance group “Rate Dansòire dij Tre Canton”.
