He asked for political asylum in Cagliari, but was wanted for theft in Germany

The man had presented himself at the counters of the Immigration Office of the Police Headquarters to start the request for political asylum , but when the police carried out the necessary checks they discovered that he was wanted for having perpetrated crimes against property in Germany.
Colleagues from the Widespread Crime Section of the Flying Squad carried out further checks and, after having received confirmation of his identity also from fingerprint comparisons carried out by specialists from the Scientific Police , arrested him and locked him up in Uta.
