Carbonia, two arson attacks in a few hours on Highway 126: fear for the residents
The flames are hitting a large reed bed that flanks the highway and threatens the houses
The first flames this morning, extinguished almost immediately: but now the firefighters and civil protection have had to return urgently to Is Gallus, Carbonia , due to a fire that is again hitting a vast reed bed that flanks state road 126 , the houses of the ward and some shops.
The mistral pushes the fire towards the great mine and as a precaution some residents have armed themselves with water pumps to keep the advance of the flames at bay, although the firefighters have managed to delimit the area covered by the fire.
In both cases they are arson fires started inside the reeds , in an area targeted many other times. The traffic police are also on site.
The intervention was not facilitated by the fact that at the end of a recent reorganization of the electricity poles, strips of cut and now dried reeds were abandoned near the vegetation.
