Second tragedy in the Brotzu hospital in Cagliari in the space of a few hours: after the death of Maurizio Orrù, 63 years old from Sant'Elia who was hit last Thursday in Viale San Bartolomeo ( HERE IS THE NEWS ), Licia Mocci's heart also stopped beating .

The sixty-one year old, originally from Riola Sardo but resident in Zeddiani, was hit by a car near the old Sant'Elia stadium on Sunday evening after the match between Cagliari and Roma. The woman arrived at Brotzu in desperate conditions and this afternoon she died despite doctors' attempts to keep her alive.

The 61-year-old had been helped after the collision by some people: there were dramatic moments with the ambulance struggling to reach the car parks of the old stadium because the Serie A match between Cagliari and Roma had just finished and the traffic was very intense. The motorist immediately stopped: in shock he witnessed the first aid given to the woman, who was then taken to hospital and admitted to intensive care. A very critical situation from the first moment. Unfortunately today he died.

This morning the other tragic news with the death of Orrù, who was also hospitalized at Brotzu: he had been hit by a Smart driven by an 80-year-old. According to an initial reconstruction by the Local Police, the 63-year-old from Sant'Elia, a retired carabiniere, was crossing the road in the stretch that leads to Viale Calamosca, immediately after the roundabout with Via Borgo Sant'Elia: the car hit him directly.

Rescue was immediate: Orrù was immediately transferred to the intensive care unit but this morning, after five days, his heart stopped beating. A person known in the Sant'Elia neighborhood who many are now crying. There have been nine fatal accidents since the beginning of the year, one more than in 2022 and two more than in 2021.
