Suspended last month due to the grave mourning that hit the town, due to the tragic death of a motorcyclist Riccardo Delrio, the Gran Galà dello Sport will take place tomorrow evening in Macomer, in the Costantino cinema-theater, with the town rewarding its excellences, with the delivery of a copy of the "Veneretta", the oldest figurine in Sardinia, found 75 years ago in a cave near the town.

There are 26 sports clubs that will be rewarded, in addition to the 36 athletes , also those from other centers, who play in the Macomer clubs. Among these also Mauro Vigorito, goalkeeper of Como, who has just been promoted to Serie A.

The Grand Sports Gala is organized by the municipal departments of sport and entertainment, precisely to reward sports clubs and athletes who have particularly distinguished themselves in their disciplines or in social activities , linked to their competitive commitment last year.

«A tribute to the commitment, often not duly recognised - it is written in a document from the Municipality - to that army of volunteers who, in the role of managers, technicians and athletes, carry out extraordinary work in city sport in terms of cohesion for the benefit of the entire community".

All the sports clubs that operate in Macomer responded unitedly to the municipal administration's invitation and will be present at the Grand Gala with their athletes and their stories, to tell the story of the city's sport. The participation of all the presidents of the regional committees of the various sports federations is also expected at the event, with the president of the regional committee of Sardinia, Bruno Perra, with the president of the FIGC Gianni Cadoni and the excellences of regional basketball. A special prize will be given to the awarded companies and athletes, the reproduction of the so-called "Veneretta di Macomer", a strong symbol of the town and its history.
