The search for Davide Calvia , the 38-year-old diver from Sassari who was lost at sea after the sinking of his boat , which took place on Wednesday afternoon in the sea of the Gulf of Asinara, gave negative results. Also on board the boat was his cousin, Giovannino Pinna, the 35-year-old underwater fisherman from Sassari found alive yesterday evening just before 9 pm, on the ninth comb of Platamona beach.

Surviving after spending 24 hours at the mercy of the waves , alert and conscious but tired and exhausted, he was transferred with the 118 ambulance to the emergency room of the Sassari civil hospital, where he was hospitalized in a state of hypothermia.

During the night, the carabinieri of the Porto Torres company, under the command of Lorenzo Mochi, sounded the entire coast of the Sorso marina, reaching as far as Castelsardo , to then suspend the search without success. Coastal patrol activities resumed this morning with the hope of finding the 38-year-old diver still alive .

Giovannino Pinna was found on the beach of Platamona by Luigi, a native of Cagliari, owner of a villa in front of the beach, who had seen the man on the shore struggling in the waves . Initially he thought he was dead , but when he realized that on the shoreline he leaned on his side to find a fixed point, he screamed alarming the carabinieri. “It was the worst moment for me, then transformed into the best thing that ever happened to me. We hope to find the other one alive as well,” said Luigi.
