They arrived by motorbike up to the parish square, then after mass they created a long procession behind the hearse, reaching the cemetery: this is how the centaur friends wanted to honor Yuri Laconi , 30, who died after the tragic accident last Monday in Seventh St. Peter.

Many also remembered soldier Yuri, corporal-major of the Sassari Brigade. "An extraordinary person - said a colleague -, he never pulled back, he was also out on missions, in Afghanistan and Mozambique: he was always ready and available".

His helmet was also brought to the cemetery: a girl who occupied the back seat of one of the dozens of motorcycles that marched from the church to the cemetery where the burial ceremony took place in an atmosphere of strong emotion lifted it towards the sky in the presence of friends and fellow soldiers.

An afternoon of pain, with the funeral mass concelebrated by the parish priest of Sinnai Father Gabriele Biccai and the military chaplain Don Marco Zara .

The facts are known: on Monday around 1pm, Yuri Laconi was traveling with his Ducati motorcycle towards Settimo San Pietro when, for reasons under investigation, he collided with a car coming in the opposite direction. Taken to hospital and subjected to surgery, he died in the night between Monday and Tuesday. In Sinnai Yuri also played rugby as a boy, with 7 Fradis.
