The journalism world is mourning the death of journalist and photographer Francesco Pinna at the age of 73. For many years, Pinna was a key figure in Oristano's news landscape. A respected professional, he chronicled the life of the city and its surrounding area with passion, skill, and sensitivity, first through photography and then through writing, collaborating with L'Unione Sarda, La Nuova Sardegna, and the ANSA news agency.
His lens and his pen also captured many moments in the history and traditions of Oristano, with particular attention to the Sartiglia, an event to which he was deeply attached and which he followed over the years, documenting its protagonists, emotions, and most significant moments. A statement reads: "His professionalism, honesty, and openness in human relationships earned him the respect and affection of all who had the opportunity to know and work with him. The Oristano Foundation, the Sartiglia Committee, the Guilds, the knights, and all the members of the great Sartiglia family extend their sincere condolences to his family and all his loved ones, expressing their deepest condolences. With Francesco Pinna, we lose an authoritative voice in local news and a friend of the Sartiglia, who will live on through the images and stories with which he preserved and passed on its memory."
