The autopsy on the body of Giovanna Satta, the 25-year-old woman from Padru , who died two days ago in the Aou Clinic of Gynecology and Obstetrics in Sassari after a caesarean section, scheduled for tomorrow, in self-defense, by the same university hospital , has been suspended. The opening of an official investigation by the Public Prosecutor of Sassari for manslaughter has blocked the autopsy examination. The investigation file was entrusted to the deputy prosecutor Paolo Piras, and the investigations were delegated to the Carabinieri of the Nas of Sassari .

In the afternoon, the military began to record the statements of the woman's family and of the people who had the opportunity to see the 25-year-old in the last hours before her hospitalization. Giovanna Satta's family, assisted by the lawyer Giampaolo Murrighile , this morning presented an application to the Court in Sassari , explicitly asking that every concrete investigation, including the autopsy examination, be carried out at the disposal of the judicial authority, in forms of law envisaged and with procedures that guarantee all the parties involved.

"We have the utmost confidence in the judiciary, for this reason we hope the intervention of the Public Prosecutor so that the investigation activity is carried out to guarantee the truth, and that the autopsy examination be performed with a trustee appointed by the prosecutor, therefore with the possibility that the parties they can nominate their own experts ", states the lawyer Murrighile. The woman, with her third child, had a complicated pregnancy and the doctors had to resort to a caesarean section to prematurely deliver the 6-month-old baby, who is safe and sound. Giovanna Satta would have died a few hours after giving birth due to a hemorrhage.
