Crowds gather in Porto Torres: the beauty of Sardinian masks parades.
One of the most iconic and representative celebrations of Sardinian cultureSpectacle, tradition, and beauty reign supreme in the Maschara parade, an event organized by the Porto Torres Proloco with the patronage of the Municipality of Turritano.
Two wings of people accompanied the long procession of traditional and identity-defining Sardinian masks that performed along the Balai seafront, up to Corso Vittorio Emanuele.
The parade opens with the Gigantes group from Sennori, enormous men dressed in black costumes who march to the beat of the drums. Extraordinary figures also perform, including I Sonaggiaos e s'Urzu Ortueri, Tumbarinos Gavoi, Sos Tintinnatos from Siniscola, the Su Maimoni e Is Ingestusu Association from Tertenia, Le Janas from Bosa, and the Merdules Bezzos De Otzana.
A festival of some of the most iconic and representative masks of Sardinian culture, the most authentic and mysterious, where each mask tells a story, an ancient rite, a deep connection to the origins of Sardinia.
The huge audience participated, immortalizing the different performances that each group showed, between the sound of drums and the various acrobatics, evocative moments of an event that has become a hallmark of the Turritana Estate.
