Restoration work on the Domus de Janas of Riu Sa Mela, in the Guasila area, has been completed. During the inauguration ceremony following the reopening of the site, the municipal administration presented the results of the work to the citizens. Speakers included Gianfranca Salis of the Superintendency of Cagliari, the restorers who described the work, Paola Carta, the city councilor for Tourism and Cultural Heritage, and archaeologist Gloria Lai, who shared her experience with the initial excavations conducted in the 1980s.

Citizens and archaeology enthusiasts had the opportunity to discover the techniques used and the results achieved in the conservation of the site. "The restoration of Riu Sa Mela is a shining example of how our tradition still lives on in a marvelous light," said Guasila Mayor Paola Casula, who thanked the many people involved in the project, especially city councilor Alessandro Angioni, "for the enormous contribution, drive, and enthusiasm they gave to achieve this result."

The restoration process was the result of a collaborative effort that allows the "House of the Fairies" to continue to reveal the sacredness and uniqueness of the area. On the occasion of the patronal feast of the Assumption, the first guided tours of this important site were held, representing one of the most significant testimonies of prehistoric funerary archaeology in Sardinia.
