"We need a fixed base of the fire brigade west of Cagliari": the appeal of the unions

" Establish a permanent detachment of the Fire Brigade in the territories of the Municipalities of Pula, Domus de Maria, Villa San Pietro and Sarroch , in order to ensure a prompt and timely response for the population in time to carry out the urgent technical assistance of the National Fire Brigade Corps ".

This is the request addressed by the trade unions of the Cagliari 115 Command to the Ministry of the Interior and to the mayors of the Municipalities concerned , in light of the activity - only seasonal - of the 115 base in Pula, "which allowed - explain the unions - to immediately bring aid to the population in a timely manner (the 20 minutes foreseen at national level), in about thirty operations carried out in less than a month and a half ”.

"Such times - explains the note from CISL / FNS CONAPO UILPA Fire Brigade CGIL / FP - are normally impossible to guarantee as the headquarters of competence for the territory is the headquarters of the Cagliari Command, located in Viale Marconi, in Cagliari ".

“Due to the hydrogeological conformation of the territory, damage and interruptions of the SS 195 road have occurred on several occasions; Floods and landslides prevented reaching the territory beyond the Municipality of Capoterra, impeded the use of the normal route and limited the possibility of reaching the industrial area of the Municipality of Sarroch in a short time. In the aforementioned industrial area there is also the "Sarlux", the largest oil refinery in Europe, and "Air liquide Italia" the production and distribution center of industrial gas in Sardinia . On the territory there is also one of the most important resorts in Sardinia, often the site of events, conferences and company presentations by the major world car manufacturers.

In light of all this, the unions conclude, “the territory and the population need useful rescue times, as is the case for the rest of Italy. We therefore ask that, in collaboration with the Municipalities of Pula, Domus de Maria, Sarroch and Villa San Pietro, all the logistical and personnel resources for the opening of a permanent branch in the area be evaluated ”.
