Double tragedy this morning in the Gulf of Cagliari, the bodies of a man and a woman who died at sea were recovered.

A patrol boat from the Cagliari Port Authority intervened to recover the lifeless body of a woman in her seventies spotted in the sea, about 70 meters from the beach from the shore, at the sixth stop, more or less at the height of the Spanish Tower. The body was noticed by some bathers who stopped a patrol of the local police, who in turn contacted the port authority.

At the moment the victim's personal details and the cause of death are unknown. The body was taken first to the Harbour Office and then to the Brotzu morgue in Cagliari awaiting the arrival of the coroner.

The Coast Guard then intervened to recover another body at Cala Regina.

The report to the Port Authority by a German tourist arrived at 9.10. It would be a man, a 56-year-old Sardinian. Also on the Coast Guard patrol boat was the forensic doctor Roberto Demontis.

The Carabinieri are investigating both incidents.
