A 71-year-old from the hinterland was sentenced to two years in prison for sexual violence. This is the sentence handed down yesterday in court in Sassari and in an abbreviated trial, by the preliminary hearing judge Gian Paolo Piana. The defendant, according to the charges, had touched the private parts of a fellow villager, hugging her from behind in a commercial establishment and had done so in front of the minor son of the injured party.

The judge also ordered the payment of 20 thousand euros to the man as compensation, in addition to the reimbursement of the legal costs of the civil party. The 71-year-old was defended by the lawyer Anna Maria Santoru while the civil party was represented by the lawyer Gianluca Nonnis.
