Quartucciu, sheep emergency in the city: the Municipality intervenes

After weeks in which the bleating and excrement of the sheep accompanied the evenings and dawns of the Quartucci residents, after the various requests for help from the residents of the Green Arrow neighborhood and the reports to the competent bodies, the Municipality has chosen the line tough. The mayor himself, Pietro Pisu, communicated this through his Facebook page.
«In recent days we have had to face a critical situation bordering on paradox, namely the invasion of a flock of sheep in the town center which, in addition to creating discomfort, degradation, health and hygiene problems and damage, has revealed how the laws on the matter are inadequate and lacking of effectiveness", writes Pisu, "we involved the health institutions and through the local police we managed to identify the person responsible for whom we issued a formal order to evacuate the sheepfold from an area adjacent to the town and compensate for the damage caused and the costs of cleaning the affected areas".
The mayor specifies that he cannot say too much about the measures taken, but assures that he has requested an inspection and possible remediation of the areas from the competent bodies in the matter.
There are those who appreciated the commitment, despite the so-called "biblical times", but also those who limited themselves to "he did his duty". Mario Bellisai recalls that this flock has been "doing what it wants" for years and that despite various phone calls to the local police "no one has ever done anything".
In short, not just likes for the mayor. Under the post other requests and reports also arrived, such as that of Ignazina Collu, who highlighted how there are also health and hygiene problems in Sant'Isidoro due to the piles of rubbish and asked the mayor why he doesn't send checks.
Patrizia Saba, on the other hand, is asking to have private land cleaned in Su Idanu, where the weeds in the reed thickets are tall and dry and the homes in the area have twice found themselves engulfed in flames. And again Anna Maria Berti, who says: «It would be nice to see Via Nulvi clean, but after the downpour it looked like the sheep had just passed by».
