Yet another record. There's no peace for motorists. Today, according to MIMIT data, diesel fuel also crossed the €2.10 threshold on the road network, settling at €2.107. This is a record not seen since April 18th, when it was €2.122. On the highway, reaching €2.181, it reaches a record not seen since April 14th, when it was €2.187.

Massimiliano Dona, president of the National Consumers Union, stated this, commenting on MIMIT data that also spells bad news for Sardinia. Today, self-service diesel on the island costs an average of €2,113 per liter, while gasoline reaches €1,952. A real rip-off.

"All prices today, gasoline and diesel, are higher than they were on March 18, 2026, when the government passed the first decree (33), which reduced excise duties by 20 cents, to 24.4 cents with VAT at 22%. Why are you waiting to intervene? Not only are you violating your campaign promises, but you're also underestimating the problem of inflation, which had finally stopped in June, but will start to rise again in July precisely because of the high fuel prices and the lack of action on excise duties."
