Elmas doesn't like the modification of the planes' routes, which they fly over more frequently than in the past. On the street, in the Giliacquas district, but also close to the Santa Caterina sports area, for those who don't know it, near the lagoon and the slopes, there are also those who no longer notice.

"It's been like this since I decided to move to Elmas, I notice it more in the summer, when the aircraft traffic is higher," says a resident, dog on a leash, in the sports field area. A woman in her fifties arrives, also with her dog, for the after-lunch walk: «Now we don't pay any attention to each other anymore, but actually».

But the Municipality takes notice which, in the committee meeting last Friday in the prefecture, asked for the modification of the routes, bringing them away from the inhabited center: "Citizens do not feel safe", says Maria Laura Orrù, mayor of the town and regional councilor. “Furthermore, we have asked for the anti-noise commission to be installed. It seems that everyone is willing to solve this problem».

In Elmas, meanwhile, the citizens are waiting for changes. As soon as possible.
