In Orgosolo, the wind of tension is still blowing strongly . After the graffiti in the little church of San Marco a Montes, addressed to Barbara Denti, a Forestas official and director of the Supramonte - Gennargentu forestry complex, and after the arson attack involving waste collection vehicles in the industrial area , now the death threats that have appeared on the walls of the town are addressed to the mayor Pasquale Mereu.

The mayor, however, with firmness and calm, responds without giving in to fear : "I am always available for dialogue. It is clear that some people did not appreciate our position against these violent acts in recent days."

Behind the intimidations and threats there could also be discontent with the administrative choices, but the mayor does not back down: "If these graffiti are linked to activities of the administration that have not been understood, I am sorry. I am always here, with the door open even after hours, ready to discuss and dialogue and my fellow citizens know this".

Orgosolo, a town with a thousand faces and unique murals that tell stories of struggle and resistance, today finds itself having to deal with another difficult chapter in its history . But Mereu does not accept the language of hate: "It saddens me that people choose to write anonymously on the walls instead of coming to talk. It ruins the image of the town and uses a method that leads nowhere. Criticism is welcome, but it must be constructive, for the good of the community."

A message, that of Mereu, that leaves no doubt: «Politics is not done with threats, but with confrontation». And in Orgosolo, whoever wants to talk, knows where to find him.
