Local authorities, the Council's appeal: "It is essential to support the candidacy of Sos Enattos for the Einstein Telescope"

"The support for the candidacy for the Einstein Telescope project of the Sos Enattos mining site in Lula is fundamental". The Local Government Council also puts the question of the strategic infrastructure for the study of gravitational waves in Europe on the agenda, at the center of one of the two motions approved.

The other concerns the adoption of "immediate measures for the equalization of remuneration at regional levels for all employees of local authorities" and the implementation of "an extraordinary plan to ascertain needs, combined with the recruitment of new personnel and professional figures necessary to recompose and adapt the workforce to the current and imminent challenges coming from Europe".
For the representatives of the Council of local self-government "the creation of an extraordinary permanent updating/training plan, the immediate return to full functionality of the intermediate institutional bodies and the launch of a reform of the structural-institutional organization in a modern key of the Region are indispensable ».

"The public spending containment measures of the last decade - underlines the president of Cal Paola Secci in a note sent to all the mayors and containing the two motions approved by the Council of Local Autonomies - have led to a general quantitative and qualitative impoverishment of the workforce of the local authorities with very serious effects on the ability to provide proximity services to citizens. At the same time, the central role assigned to municipalities and intermediate bodies by European policies for the environmental, energy and digital transition risks being compromised due to the material impossibility of the employees of local bodies to transfer the huge sums allocated to the regional economic circuit available from the National Recovery and Resilience Plan".

This afternoon, in the headquarters of the INAF – National Institute of Astrophysics – there will be the official presentation of Italy as a place destined to host the Einstein Telescope.
