The Judicial Police Team of the Sardinian Highway Police Department, supported by personnel from the Cagliari Highway Police Section and the Judicial Police Team of the Nuoro Highway Police Section, identified two businesses operating in the total absence of any authorization, including those required for the management of hazardous and non-hazardous special waste.

The first business, a body shop and mechanical workshop, was located in the municipality of Monserrato. During the inspection, a building measuring approximately 300 square meters was discovered, used for mechanical and bodywork work, with column and floor lifts, all occupied by vehicles undergoing repairs. Hazardous and non-hazardous waste, such as used oil drums, used oil filters, mechanical processing waste, and tires, was found in the same area.

The second activity was discovered in the municipality of Isili. In this case, the area consisted of a yard and a 150-square-meter building, for a total of 450 square meters. These activities were also used for processing, carried out completely without any authorization. A large amount of hazardous and non-hazardous waste was found stored within the area, managed without proper forms or loading and unloading records. Several engines and gearboxes were also found, with the fluids not cleaned, and investigations are underway to determine their origin.

Both businesses were seized. Two individuals were reported to the Judicial Authorities for the crime of unauthorized waste management.
