A Via Crucis 3 kilometers long and the Encounter , a procession perhaps unique in Sardinia, which sees "s'Incontru" between the risen Jesus, not with Mary, his mother, according to a tradition so dear to popular piety and as normally represented, but with Mary of Magdala (Saint Mary Magdalene) as told in the Gospels .

These will be the culminating moments of Holy Week and Easter day in La Maddalena , also rich in the other liturgical celebrations that characterize this particular period of the year in the Christian world. The city Via Crucis , with an evocative nocturnal departure and torchlight procession, from the parish church of Moneta and arrival in that of Santa Maria Maddalena, reaches its 26th edition this year, having been organized for the first time in Easter 1998 by the will of the then , respectively, parish administrator and parish priest, Don Domenico Degortes.

Which gave life a few years later, in 2002, also to the more authentically evangelical Procession of the Encounter . The simulacrum of Santa Maria Maddalena, left on Easter morning from the church of the same name and carried on the shoulders of the Fidali 1973, meets the simulacrum of the Risen in Piazza Command, arrived there from the church of the Agonia, di Moneta, brought there by the Confraternity of Gethsemane. The Via Crucis leaves Moneta, Good Friday, April 7 at 21:30. The meeting in Command Square is scheduled for Easter day around 10:30.
