The island is also involved in the vast anti-drug operation carried out in various European countries by the Central Service for the Investigation of Organized Crime (SCICO) and the Economic and Financial Police Unit of Brescia of the Guardia di Finanza, with the support of the Fiamme Gialle of Sassari, Olbia and Tempio Pausania.

The investigations that lasted several years have led in recent days to the arrest of 46 people and the seizure of assets worth over five million euros. Thanks to the collaboration between the Albanian and Italian judiciary , an organization active throughout Europe has been defeated.

There is talk of extensive trafficking in cocaine, heroin, marijuana and hashish . The financiers have identified and arrested two people, both of Albanian nationality, in Northern Sardinia . Laidon Ibrhaimi and Myka Muhrem were taken from their homes in Valledoria and Badesi and investigations are now underway to reconstruct the role and activities of the two in the Sassari area . There is talk of preparing cars for the transport of drugs inside the false bottom of the bodywork.

Over several years, the same operation led to the seizure of over 120 kilograms of Dutch imported cocaine and 15 kilograms of pure heroin, refined in two laboratories, subject to seizure, in Cremona and Milan. 129 kilograms of marijuana and 92 kilograms of hashish were also seized. The two people arrested are in the Sassari prison.
