Head-on collision on 197: a 42-year-old nurse died

Tragedy during the night on State Road 197 between the Municipalities of Furtei and Villamar , where two cars - a Peugeot 307 and a BMW - collided head-on, at km 30. The toll is one dead and one seriously injured.
The victim is a 42-year-old from Nuoro, Lucia Virdis , a professional nurse, graduated in Cagliari and in service at the San Francesco di Nuoro hospital.
The other driver, a 32-year-old from Gesturi , was transported to the Monserrato hospital in red code with various injuries. It wouldn't be life threatening.
The damage to the two vehicles was very heavy, testifying to the violence of the impact.
After the alarm, the Carabinieri of Furtei and Lunamatrona intervened on the spot, together with the operators of the 118 of Sanluri.
The Anas teams are also in action. Circulation in the area was stopped for about two hours to allow rescue efforts and the safety of the roadway.
