Over 40,000 Christmas decorations and lights were seized by the Guardia di Finanza in four shops between Cagliari, Sarroch, Sanluri and Iglesias.

The Fiamme Gialle underlined that during the activities launched in view of the holidays, "commercial activities in full compliance with the specific rules to protect the sector" were controlled. But the military also came across " situations of irregularity, which can cause harm to buyers, who with the intention of fully entering the "Christmas mood", embellishing their homes with sparkling Christmas decorations, actually expose themselves to risks for their own health or the safety of their homes".

The seized material "was totally different from the provisions of the Consumer Code, given the total lack of minimum information, such as data relating to the producer and importer, the country of origin and the nature of the materials used for their realization, especially for electrical impulse decorations, such as lights and luminous decorations".

The largest quantity in Cagliari, with 30,561 irregular "Christmas furnishings". For the owners of the activities, the report to the Chamber of Commerce was triggered, as well as a fine of between 250 and 25,000 euros.
