A crowd bath in Samugheo for “A Maimone”
Great success for the festival dedicated to ancient masksA crowd in Samugheo for the twenty-eighth edition of A Maimone, the festival dedicated to ancient masks organized by the Cultural Association Mamutzones de Samugheo with the patronage of the Municipality, the Union of Barigadu and the Region.
Thousands of people have reached the town of Mandrolisai since the morning and expectations have not disappointed. The protagonists have in fact given a great show with the exhibition of the figures of the Sardinian tradition and of the Friulians of the Pust di Rodda, coming from Pulfero.
The organizers are satisfied: «Another successful edition and from tomorrow we will think about the thirtieth anniversary». The parade was opened by the Mamutzoneddos, in the sign of the future. They will be the protagonists of tomorrow, while the Mamutzones group had the honor of closing the event among the colors of the sunset.
An evocative performance, full of meaning and emotion. In the middle are the figures of the ancient Barbagia carnival, Boes and Merdules from Ottana, Sos Thurpos from Orotelli, Su Bundu from Orani, Sas Mascheras Limpias from Fonni, Sos Tumbarinos from Gavoi, Su Turcu from Ollolai, Sos Intintos, Sos Maimones and Sos Murronarzos from Olzai, Is Sonaggiaos and s'Urtzu from Ortueri, in addition to the other masks of the Samughese tradition, Su Tragacorgios and Su Carru 'e Minchileo. Lots of applause for everyone.
