He began a hunger strike on May 8 to protest against prison conditions and to raise awareness of the structural problems of the Uta prison .
The activist Paolo Todde , 64 years old, in pre-trial detention because he is believed to be among the participants in a robbery committed in Sestu last year, is taking part in a mobilization carried out by several inmates (a document was signed by 150 inmates and delivered to the Surveillance Court) to raise awareness of the critical situation and violence of those who live inside the prison.
The inmates protest overcrowding in the cells, the quality of the water, access to the library and soccer fields, health care and the lack of a guarantor for the inmates. On Monday 9 June at 6:30 pm in Piazza Costituzione in Cagliari there will be a demonstration in favor of Paolo Todde organized by anarchist groups.
