Selargius confirms its position as a hub for Sardinian energy speculation. Moreover, the data released by the Campidano town's municipal building leaves no room for doubt: of the 2,670 hectares of municipal land, 1,850 are agricultural, 69.29 percent of the total, demonstrating the area's longstanding vocation for work and employment.

But 223 hectares, a situation unmatched in other parts of the island, are covered by power line easements, representing 8.35 percent of the land. The Terna substation at Su Pardu alone occupies 9.3 hectares, while the Enel substation at Is Corrias occupies 3.0 hectares. In short, the two existing substations occupy a total of 12.3 hectares, while the existing easements cover an area eighteen times larger.

The government considers these easements strategic, as they are necessary for the management, storage, and distribution of energy to be generated from the various plants scattered throughout Sardinia: we're talking about easements covering approximately 25,000-30,000 hectares of forest and agricultural land (according to reliable estimates). However, in exchange, the private parties have not provided any compensation, despite the Municipality's push for it.
