Random checks are being carried out on the lists of passengers travelling from Spain to Italy and vice versa, following the Ceuta case .

Grimaldi Lines assures that the situation is not causing any disruption or queues at ports , where passengers travelling by ship between Italy and Spain are not being affected, following the clash between the two countries, triggered by Italy's decision to suspend the Schengen Agreement, which was followed by Spain's response.

Even in the port of Porto Torres, no problems have been encountered for ferries departing from Civitavecchia, arriving in Barcelona but stopping first at the Porto Torres port . Therefore, some passengers disembark and head for tourist destinations in Sardinia, while others board from the Sardinian port for Spain.

The Grimaldi company is only experiencing a few delays in unloading operations in ports due to random checks , a situation that could change from hour to hour and will need to be monitored on a daily basis.

"The reservations were made months ago, before a conflict between the two countries was even on the horizon, and therefore there are no repercussions on this front," Grimaldi Lines said. Along with passengers and their vehicles, the ships also carry trucks for freight transport. Two passenger ships operate on the Italy-Spain route, with five weekly departures from Barcelona and five from Civitavecchia. Each ship has a capacity of 3,000 passengers, but not all of them travel from Italy to Spain.
