This is how Jacopo Barbarossa died at the age of just 17 , at number 266 in via Leonardo Da Vinci, on the provincial road 17 at the entrance to Quartu.
The young man was on a motorcycle with a friend when the latter, for reasons that are still unclear, lost control of the vehicle and crashed into the guard rail . Nothing to be done for Jacopo, the boy was thrown onto the asphalt and died instantly . The driver of the scooter, the same age as the victim, got away with some injuries and was taken to the Monserrato Polyclinic, his conditions are not serious. The two were traveling in the direction of Capitana, perhaps to join other friends.
A 118 ambulance, the traffic police and the carabinieri attended the scene. No other vehicles were involved in the accident, which took place just before 7 pm in the Flumini di Quartu area.
The scenes on the site of the tragedy are heartbreaking , with friends in tears who watch over the lifeless body of the 17-year-old covered with a white sheet.
The body of Jacopo Barbarossa was transferred to the morgue of the Quartu cemetery, available to the family.
