A very sad record for Sardinia .

According to the latest ISTAT data for 2024, the island has the highest road accident mortality rate in Italy, 7.2%, compared to the national average of 5%.

The Association of Relatives of Road Victims, long committed to raising awareness and preventing accidents, emphasizes that many tragedies are due to the human factor : fatal distractions related to cell phone use in the car, excessive speed, failure to give way.

Avoidable tragedies that interrupt lives, creating an unfillable void, pain, and grief. Another cause is linked to the state of the roads, their lack or inadequate maintenance, and outdated guardrails that represent a serious risk factor .
