Yet another flood has occurred on the road along the Balai seafront in Porto Torres, near the Scoglio Lungo beach, where rainwater and sewage have poured in, a problem that recurs with every downpour.

This story has been repeating itself for over thirty years, and the consequences are having repercussions on the marine environment and the commercial activities present along that stretch of road.

The force of the water overwhelms everything, sweeping debris onto the sand and into the sea, on one of the beaches where the Vosma cooperative's lifeguard and rescue service is still active. The cause lies in the sewer system, which has been inadequate for too long. Heavy rains cause manholes to burst due to the undersized collector, and the sewage, mixed with freshwater, forms a muddy, marshy river that flows onto the sand, forming a canal that flows into the sea. A precarious situation with nauseating odors for the businesses and restaurants that operate along the seafront.
