They had organized everything in detail, but were betrayed by the boat's engine , a wooden fishing boat about nine meters long. Three Tunisians had organized the crossing of fifteen compatriots from their country to Sardinia , and precisely to Cala Cipolla, in the municipality of Domus de Maria . Now they have been arrested and charged with the crime of aiding and abetting illegal immigration.

In their plan, the idea was to disembark the migrants, to return to Africa , as evidenced by the amount of fuel still available, both in the tank and in special cans kept as a reserve. But when they were about to arrive on the island, something went wrong: a technical problem prevented the three arrested from restarting the boat . A mishap that allowed the finance police to identify the boat: at the sight of the police forces ashore, the trio performed an awkward anchor, abandoning the vessel and mingling with the other fifteen compatriots , who were then accompanied to the first reception center of Monastir.

But after recovering the boat, the yellow flames had enough elements to reconstruct what happened, with the petrol clue in the foreground. The three traffickers, once identified, were then arrested and taken to Uta prison .
