The fight against wildfires in Sardinia continues. Numerous blazes continued to break out today from north to south of the island.
In southern Sardinia, a fire broke out this afternoon in Furtei , near "Is Concas." A helicopter initially responded to the blaze, but the situation worsened : the Forestry Corps dispatched additional aircraft from its operational bases in Iglesias, Pula, and Fenosu, using the Super Puma. An Air Force A500AM helicopter and a Canadair were also requested.
Meanwhile, in Teulada, flames are reported in the Riu de Monti area. Here, too, only one helicopter was initially reported to be working, but "given the severity of the flames," the Forestry Department said, a Canadair and another helicopter were requested to intervene.
In Florinas, the Forestry Corps intervened, with the support of two helicopters from the Forestry Corps operational bases in Limbara and the SuperPuma in Fenosu.
