« No to the halt to the modernization works of the Brotzu ».

An open letter from the Anaao-Assomed doctors of Sardinia to Christian Solinas , yet another appeal to the governor after the approval of the new hospital plan which in fact – as reiterated by Solinas himself and councilor Doria – closes the Brotzu and the oncologist.

«The new hospital is welcome, but in the meantime work on the Brotzu surgical plate should begin in such a way as to allow for better organization of the operations and a simultaneous reduction in waiting lists - we read -. You, governor, are not a professional lent to politics but you are a professional of politics and, more than us, you know the times of the administrations for the approval of a public work, the beginning of the works and their conclusion ».

The doctors cite a few examples, "the foundation stone of block R of the activity of the Monserrato Polyclinic, laid down for years" and remained there, alone. Or again "the works for the new hospital of San Gavino, the construction of which had been approved by the Giunta Pigliaru, which are far from being completed".

"We too - they continue - think that Cagliari needs a modern hospital with additional beds, increasingly indispensable after the closure of the Marino departments, the downsizing of medicines transferred from San Giovanni di Dio to the Polyclinic, the closure and/or the reorganization of some departments of the SS. Trinità and Binaghi, in addition to the persistent shortage of long-term care beds».

But this must not lead to a halt to work at Brotzu, the conclusion: «Knowing that for you health care is a primary and incompressible good, dear governor, we can only think that your statements have been misunderstood and we are waiting (like all Sardinians) of his explanation ".
