A large fire broke out between Sinnai and Burcei: the mountain blaze was extinguished with helicopters and a Canadair.

The fire that broke out in the early afternoon in Bruncu Sturrui, four kilometers from Burcei but in the Sinnai area, has been extinguished. The flames engulfed a vast area, fortunately only low-lying scrubland. The immediate intervention of firefighting equipment, with the arrival of two Canadairs and three helicopters, prevented the flames from spreading to other wooded areas, where it could have caused significant environmental damage.

A timely and decisive intervention from above, which had no alternative given the impossibility of reaching the area not served by access roads.

Fenosu's Super Puma and two Canadairs from Olbia Airport responded, carrying out several jumps until the flames were contained. The Forestry Department is now conducting cleanup of the entire site.
